On March 14, Kazakhs traditionally celebrate Kórisu kúni, or the Amal holiday. On this day, residents congratulate each other on the arrival of spring, express good wishes, and pay tribute to the older generation.

This marks the beginning of the festive period, welcoming spring and the new year, which reaches its climax with the celebration of Nauryz on March 21-22. It is customary on this day.
