Kazakh-Chinese business dialogue has opened up new prospects for cooperation with China in the field of tourism
21.11.2024 17:00:00Astana, November 14, 2024 – The Kazakh-Chinese business dialogue was held in the capital of Kazakhstan, organized by the Akimat of Astana city within the framework of the Year of Kazakhstani Tourism in China. The initiative was launched on October 17, 2023, during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People's Republic of China.
The event was opened by Deputy Mayor of Astana Evgeny Glotov together with Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov. They stressed the importance of the event to strengthen long-term partnerships with China and expressed confidence that joint efforts contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Kazakhstan, including the city of Astana.
The business dialogue was attended by leading representatives of the Chinese tourism industry, including the President of the Academy of Tourism of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Dai Bing, representatives of seven major travel associations, thirteen influential tour operators from major target cities of China: Beijing, Shanghai, Urumqi, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Hangzhou, Xi'an and Guangzhou, as well as Chinese marketing companies and analytical centers.
Zhang Yi, Senior Executive Director of C-trip, made a presentation on "Digital trends in tourism", Liu Yixuan, Deputy Director of the MaFengWo Marketing Department, spoke about the capabilities of the MaFengWo platform to attract Chinese tourists. The President of the Association for International Cooperation in Tourism "World without Borders" presented a digital B2B marketing strategy for cooperation between tour operators of the Silk Road countries, and Vice President of the Beijing Analytical Center Mingshen Xiong Shanhua shared Chinese 5A standards for the development of tourism infrastructure, giving examples of successful projects.
The event included b2b sessions at which Kazakhstani representatives of the tourism industry: associations, tour operators, hotel chains and airlines discussed proposals for tourism development, established new contacts, exchanged experiences and signed agreements strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Kazakh-Chinese business dialogue demonstrated the high interest of Chinese partners in the development of tourism in Astana and throughout Kazakhstan. It is expected that the results of the event will lead to a significant increase in the tourist flow from China, strengthen bilateral relations and become an important step towards promoting Astana as a dynamic and open center for international cooperation on the world tourism map.
