According to the international Numbeo ranking, the capital of Kazakhstan has entered the world’s top 100 safest cities, climbing 24 positions over the year — from 105th to 81st place.
Over the past year, Astana’s Safety Index increased from 66.7 to 67.5, placing the city among urban centers with a low crime rate and a stable, sustainable urban environment.
The ranking assessed 263 cities worldwide. The top positions were taken by Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Dubai.
The index is based on a combination of indicators, including crime statistics, residents’ perceptions of safety, the effectiveness of law enforcement, and the quality of urban infrastructure and public spaces.
Astana continues to consistently strengthen its position as a safe and comfortable city to live in.
