On June 16–17 the second «Central Asia – China» summit was held in Astana, during which President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev negotiated with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.
As a result of the negotiations between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President Xi Jinping, 24 intergovernmental and interagency documents were signed.
The delegations of the two countries exchanged agreements covering cooperation in the fields of energy, aerospace, digitalization, customs regulation, agriculture, e-commerce, tourism, intellectual property, healthcare, media, science, and interregional relations.
In addition, at the intergovernmental level, agreements were signed on mutual promotion and protection of investments, as well as on technical and economic cooperation.
At the summit, speeches were delivered by President Xi Jinping of China, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.
Following the summit, the heads of state signed the Astana Declaration of the Second «Central Asia – China» Summit, as well as the Treaty on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, and the People’s Republic of China.
